Keegan Petersen, the South African player, will address Durham in the 2022 County season, the club declared on Thursday (February 17). Petersen will be accessible to play seven County Championship games - the last being Durham's match against Worcestershire that beginnings on June 12.
Petersen, who made his Test debut against West Indies last year, has played five Test matches such a long ways for South Africa. He dazzled in the home series against India, scoring 276 runs in the three Test matches to top the run graphs. The 28-year-old had to miss South Africa's continuous New Zealand visit because of COVID-19.
Petersen has been a decent entertainer in the top notch level, having scored 6590 runs, including 16 centuries and 32 fifties. Anticipating his stretch with Durham, Petersen said: "It's energizing to join a County like Durham and I anticipate connecting up with the crew and having an effective commitment during my time in the north east."
Durham's Director of Cricket Marcus North added: "We're extremely satisfied to have gotten the nature of Keegan Petersen for the primary square of County cricket in 2022. Keegan will add further solidarity to the top our batting line up and joins the club on the rear of an effective period with South Africa. He is in an incredible spot with his cricket having, last year, broke into the South African Test side; we anticipate inviting Keegan to Durham in April."
