CSA's SJN follow-up: Mark Boucher charged with 'gross misconduct'

In a development to the Social Justice and Nation-Building (SJN) report, Mark Boucher has been accused of ridiculous offense by Cricket South Africa, and will confront a disciplinary hearing led by senior guidance advocate Terry Motau. Boucher stays in his job as lead trainer of the senior men's group, and will be with the group as they take on India in the second ODI in Paarl on Friday.

On Thursday, CSA named Motau as administrator of the disciplinary hearing into the claims of wrongdoing against Boucher, and said in an explanation that the mentor had been given his charge sheet.

The assertion said: "It is suggested that the gatherings [Boucher] will meet with Advocate [Motau] on 26th January 2022 to decide a plan for the procedures.

This follows December's Social Justice and Nation-Building (SJN) report, which made conditional discoveries with respect to claims of segregation and prejudice against different people, including Mr Boucher. In particular, during the SJN interaction, charges of prejudice were evened out against Mr Boucher by his previous Proteas colleague, Paul Adams.

"CSA affirms that a charge sheet, containing both the disciplinary charges against Mr Boucher, just as his freedoms, was given to him on 17 January. The forthcoming request will likewise consider concerns and claims that emerged after the renunciation of previous right hand mentor, Enoch Nkwe.

"While Mr Boucher is being accused of ridiculous unfortunate behavior, which could prompt his excusal, CSA stresses it is critical that the free request first necessities to test all charges before any inquiry of assent can emerge."
