Shabnim Ismail got four wickets as South Africa Women beat West Indies Women by six wickets in Johannesburg to seal the four-match ODI series 2-1 after the main game was cleaned out.
South Africa have now won every one of their last five ODI series, a streak that began with a 3-0 whitewash of New Zealand in January 2020.
On Sunday, West Indies were without their standard commander Stafanie Taylor and Chedean Nation - both had experienced on-field wounds during the third ODI. In Taylor's nonappearance, substitute chief Anisa Mohammed picked to bat first in the wake of winning the throw however West Indies were all out for just 174 in the 50th over.
Ismail eliminated Rashada Williams ahead of schedule before Deandra Dottin and Kycia Knight added 65 for the subsequent wicket. It was Ismail indeed who broke the stand with Dottin's wicket. In the blink of an eye a while later, Knight fell too, to Chloe Tryon, leaving West Indies 104 for 3.
Two runs later, a shocking catch by Laura Wolvaardt off the bowling of Tumi Sekhukhune sent back Hayley Matthews. It was a short and wide conveyance that the player went to chop yet couldn't hold it down. Wolvaardt, remaining at cover-point, hurled herself to one side and culled a one-gave get.
