Covid-19: Three Bangladesh squad members test positive ahead of Women's World Cup

 Three individuals from the Bangladesh unexpected, headed for New Zealand to take part in the Women's World Cup, have tried positive for Covid-19. The remainder of the crew left from Dhaka to Auckland on Thursday evening.

While the three Covid-positive individuals will go through isolation in Dhaka, the people who are going to New Zealand will disconnect for ten days. The competition will start on March 4 and the last will be played on April 3.

"The public ladies' group is going to New Zealand to participate in the World Cup," Shaful Alam Chowdhury, the BCB ladies' wing director, said. "Among them one player and two authorities were tracked down certain on Wednesday (February 2). We are wanting to organize one more test for them following eight days and expectedly they would make their outing to World Cup on February 14 or 15."

Bangladesh are going to New Zealand right on time to give themselves no less than three more practice matches, also the ICC-ordered two, in front of the competition.

Bangladesh are the just debutants in the forthcoming ODI World Cup after the qualifiers held in Zimbabwe last November were canceled halfway because of worries around the Omicron variation of Covid-19. The choice depended in group rankings, which saw Bangladesh, Pakistan and West Indies qualify notwithstanding the competition not arriving at its decision.

Three individuals from the Bangladesh side, which got back to Dhaka from Harare, had been viewed as Covid-positive at that point.

Bangladesh will start their Women's World Cup crusade against South Africa in Dunedin on March 5.
