'Got a lump in my throat' - South Africa Test centurion Sarel Erwee opens up on mental health battles

 Sarel Erwee planned to stop. It was the mid year of 2019, he'd been playing cricket for 10 years, was moving toward his 30th birthday celebration and thought his fantasies about being a worldwide cricketer were finished. He had motivation to. Erwee had gone very nearly two years and 30 innings without a top notch century and found the middle value of 28.63. Indeed, even before that, his normal across 75 matches floated simply over 35. He had quite recently had enough.

"I was a call away from punching out," he said subsequent to turning out to be South Africa's most current Test centurion in Christchurch.

However at that point came a mediation. "I had enormous help, when I plunked down with my family, with my folks and they got me. I saw a games therapist and we managed it every day. It was a hard trudge to attempt to get inspired once more, to do everything I can subsequent to needing to surrender," he said. Until they didn't and the meetings Erwee went to worked.
