IPL 2022 format: Two groups of five, each team still plays 14 league games

 The BCCI declared on Friday that the 10 IPL groups will play 14 association matches every (7 home and 7 away). Each group will play five groups two times and the leftover four groups just a single time.

Each group will play two times against the groups in their gathering and against the group in a similar line in the other gathering. Against the leftover four groups in the other gathering, each group will play just a single time.

For instance, KKR will play two times in the association stages against MI, RR, DC, LSG and SRH (the group in a similar column in the other gathering). KKR will play just a single time against CSK, RCB, PBKS and GT.

The arrangement is like that utilized for the 2011 version, when IPL had two new groups in Pune Warriors India and Kochi Tuskers Kerala.

The BCCI likewise affirmed a Cricbuzz report from yesterday that the IPL will start off on March 26 and wrap up on May 29, with 70 association matches set to be played across four scenes in Mumbai and Pune.

Each group will play 4 matches each at Wankhede Stadium and DY Patil Stadium, and 3 matches each at Brabourne Stadium (CCI) and MCA International Stadium, Pune.
