Wagner: Winning against South Africa 'no different to any of the other ones'

Matt Henry was the champion bowling star for New Zealand, with Tim Southee a not-too-far off second, in their innings-and-276-run prevail upon South Africa in the primary Test, however Pretoria-conceived Neil Wagner had his influence as well, with three wickets and a smart innings of 49. Presently, as New Zealand go into the second and last Test searching for their first Test series prevail upon South Africa, Wagner is certain that "we truly need to beat them in the series", it will not be "different to any of different ones" New Zealand have won lately.

"They are a quality group, and we truly need to, clearly, beat them in the series. They have forever been a quality unit," Wagner said three days off from the beginning of the subsequent Test, additionally in Christchurch. "Individuals pose me that inquiry, clearly, on the grounds that I was brought into the world there. However, I've been living here for 14 years at this point, so it's something I don't ponder excessively, or it doesn't actually have that impression. I most likely just truly realize a few people in that group in any case. So it's totally different to what it was the point at which I began my vocation actually.

"Yet, to take down any group… we've accomplished several things all through the years currently, beating England without precedent for I don't have the foggiest idea how long. [It's] a similar regardless of who you play, we saw that two or three months prior when we played against Bangladesh, how they played in our circumstances.

"Test cricket against any Test group is quite intense, and each success is one you can prize. This will be extraordinary, yet it's indistinguishable to any of different ones."

It has been an exceptional run for New Zealand in Test cricket of late. In the 2019-2021 World Test Championship, they won eight of their 12 games, including the last against India, to bring home the crown. The new cycle hasn't started well for them, as they lost 1-0 in India and afterward drew 1-1 at home against Bangladesh, yet it has been returned to business against South Africa, as the speed group of four of Southee, Wagner, Henry and Kyle Jamieson turned the resistance over for 95 and 111 in the primary Test.
