Jaded Shakib asks for break from international cricket: 'I don't think I should be in the South Africa tour'

Shakib Al Hasan has said that he wants a break from worldwide cricket, showing to the BCB's cricket activities executive Jalal Yunus that he could quit the ODI series against South Africa in the not so distant future, so he can return intellectually and truly new for the Test series in a similar visit.

Shakib was named in both the crews last week after BCB president Nazmul Hassan guaranteed that the allrounder had consented to go for the Tests as well.

Notwithstanding, on Sunday prior to leaving Dhaka for Dubai for an individual commitment, Shakib said that he felt like a "traveler" in the just-closed Afghanistan series, where he made 74 runs and took seven wickets in the three ODIs and two T20Is.

"Considering my psychological and actual state, I don't figure I can play such a lot of worldwide cricket," Shakib said. "Assuming I get a break, in the event that I get my advantage back, I can play effortlessly. I resembled a traveler in the Afghanistan series, which is rarely alluring. I didn't partake in the ODIs and T20Is. I don't figure I should be in the South Africa visit with such a mindset. I need to live up to everybody's assumptions when I am playing. There's no assurance of my best exhibition, however basically I will realize that I attempted hardest for the country. I would rather not burn through the time or somebody's spot. Playing thusly, as a traveler, it will be like double-crossing or duping my partners and the country."

Shakib said that he told BCB boss Hassan that he will visit for the two configurations in South Africa, yet he was reconsidering during the Afghanistan series.

"I have informed Jalal bhai who advised me to consider it for several days. I'm anticipating a choice after that. I had before spoken with Papon bhai that I will play both the series yet I contemplated since the match yesterday. Taking a gander at my psychological and state of being, I really want a touch of time. I could skirt the ODI series to play the Tests in a superior state of being."

Shakib said that he needs the BCB to chalk out an extended arrangement for him by considering the high level phase of his vocation. He said that he had asked the BCB for a break from all Tests till mid-November, not for only a half year as Hassan had said the week before.

"I think at this phase of my profession, I want a drawn out arrangement. I think we really should have clearness about everything. My letter to the board didn't make reference to a half year. I let the board know that I needed to avoid Tests till November 22 this year. I needed to focus completely on white-ball cricket. We have two World Cups in the following two years.

"I would have rather not leave Tests absolutely, but since we are observing a touch of equilibrium in the Test side, I felt that assuming I center around white-ball, considering my age and actual wellness, I might have improved in ODIs and T20Is. I think it is better assuming that I know the drawn out arrangement about me. There's no good reason for thinking series-by-series."

Bangladesh are planned to leave for South Africa on March 12. They will play three ODIs on March 18, 20 and 23, as well as two Tests from March 31 to April 8.
