Shakib among five Bangladesh players to be handed all-format central contracts by BCB

Shakib Al Hasan is among five Bangladesh men's cricketers to be given focal agreements by the BCB for each of the three configurations this year. The choice was taken notwithstanding Shakib's inaccessibility for four Tests up to this point this year.

Shakib skirted the New Zealand Tests in January refering to individual reasons, and drummed up some excitement when he said his condition - physical and mental - wasn't permitting him to visit South Africa in the not so distant future. The BCB in this manner allowed him "rest" from all global cricket matches till April 30.

On Wednesday, the BCB's cricket activities executive Jalal Yunus said that Shakib had moved away from his underlying solicitation to get him far from Tests till mid-November. In any case, the declaration on Thursday recommends the BCB was anticipating that Shakib should be accessible for the other Tests this year.

Aside from Shakib, the BCB went on with Mushfiqur Rahim, Litton Das, Taskin Ahmed and Shoriful Islam for the all-designs contracts, similarly as they had in 2021.

Mahmudul Hasan Joy and Yasir Ali are the two new contestants with Test contracts, while the BCB offloaded Mohammad Saifuddin, Soumya Sarkar, Saif Hassan, Abu Jayed and Shamim Hossain.

Like last year's agreements, Tamim Iqbal, who declared that he was requiring a six-month break from T20Is this year, and Mehidy Hasan Miraz have been given Test and ODI contracts.

Mahmudullah, who resigned from Tests last year, and Mustafizur Rahman have ODIs and T20Is in their agreements. Taijul Islam got a slight downgrade after he was given a Test-just agreement, a change from his Test and ODI contract the year before.

The BCB, notwithstanding, didn't declare the month to month compensations or the match charges for each arrangement.
