Australia's visit through New Zealand for three T20Is - booked to be played in Napier one month from now - has now been dropped, Cricket Australia affirmed on Wednesday (February 9).
The short series was organized on the premise New Zealand government's arrangement to ease limitations at the Trans-Tasman borders, however that wasn't true. The two sheets - CA and NZC - consented to hold the series on the grounds that the Government's arrangements were currently significantly deferred, having an effect on segregation prerequisites.
"We say thanks to NZ Cricket for bending over backward to have the series however sadly it was preposterous given the line limitations and quarantine necessities," CA CEO Nick Hockley said.
Australia were planned to play the three games in New Zealand on March 17, 18 and 20.
